"Black Friday in a retail store"~~~~~~~(11/29/2015)
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, is the first day of traditional Christmas shopping, during which crowds of consumers are drawn to special offers by retailers. Most of the store are giving out cupone and sick deals to customers. People always go crazy on Black Friday, they stand in line for days to get the deals, some people, will get in line few days before thanksgiving for those deals. Best Buy, Walmart, Target and Nikes are always the most popular store that people will shop with. 


I work at Tommy Hilfiger in Glendale, and I work both days thanksgiving and black friday. I really like working on thanksgiving actully, not just because I get pay mroe, but the time go by way faster, and have more cowoorker on the floor.
Compare to other country, black friday in America maybe very crazy, peolpe staying up all night and shopping, and people can die for a deal. But in Hong Kong, this is nothing, compare to hong kong, every weekend is black friday! You will be suprise how crazy they are, and if there is black friday in hong kong, all the store is going to get wreck.

"Dumb men" is a website that talk about stupid Men and Male bashing in commercials, and exposing the stereotypes of Men in advertising. This website had a lot of different commercials that about stupid men and they are all losers, which makes me think of these two right down here.












I really like the idea of the website, and most of the commercial are pretty dumb and funny. The best one is probably the Doritos one. It said: "Doritos has to be the king of dumb men commercials. In this one, a dude sucks Doritos cheese from a guy's finger and off another man's pants. Freaking disgusting." it is my favorite one so far! The audience of this commercial will be the people that who loves Doritos or chips, and the tone of this commercial is humor.

"A Love Story"~~~~~~(11/15/2015)
I watched a movie call "A Love Story"(2009) Michael Moore are the director, writer, and star of this movie. Michael Moore studied at University of Michigan-Flint, and majored in journalism. He turned to filmmaking after he earn a bunch of money of his first film.

This is the first time I watched Michael Moore movie, after watching this movie, I started to understand something. In chinses we call that"The rich people will only get richer, and the poor people will only get poorer" which makes me feels like the only way people can get away from poor is to win a lottery, that mean the jackpot chance is 1 in 14 million(very close to impossible). And suddenly I feel like capitalism disgust me, because of the people losing their house or property, without knowing it till the last minute, but the people that do these to them can actually get away from the court and get away from the punishment. Maybe capitalism is not the best system in the world, and communism is not the worst.

Entry #6 Technology and school

"Phone vs School"~~~~~~(11/15/2015)

Cell phone are the necessities that human use and they can get people directions, take note as a reminder, also people can update friends recent, also cell phone has become part of human life, and smartphone owner is getting younger and younger, even an elementary school student has an IPhone.  There are pros and cons for students using their phone during school, in high school which mean is the most important part of their life, students has no reason to use their phone during school, and it has no benefit to classroom learning. 

The good learning environment can be ruin by cell phone use in class, a good learning environment is supposed to have no distraction at all. Cell-phone can be so distractive, like when people answer the phone during class, getting text messages from other friends or the wrong alarm setting.  The second level of detraction is if someone phone is ringing, the teacher needs to stop the teaching and tell the student to turn it off or put it away, which is not fair to the other students that have to stay in this learning environment. The teachers will be able to teach their classes easier, faster and better, if there is no need to discipline students or that many disruptions.

Most of the High school in America allow students to bring cell-phone to school, some let the student use it in class, some even requier student to bring their phone to school and make it easier to do research online or translate online. In Hong Kong, most of the High school won't let student bring their phone to school. Some school will have the teacher collect their phone before class, and give it abck to them after class. If necessaire some school makes the student parents write a letter to prove that their kid had the need of bringing a phone to school. 

Entry #5 ASU Short Class

"The Changes of ASU"~~~~~~(11/15/2015)
Arizoan State University is one of the biggest Univesity in Arizona. Most of the Univesity and community college campuses has the standard traditoin of 15 weeks Fall and spring semester, but in January ASU plans to add more short classes that can completed half of the time, which is 7 1/2 weeks. 
 
There is Pros and cons in this situations. Pros: Student shcduel can be more flexible, because more short classes avalible and in a shorter period. Student can finish coures faster, and pay less tution or rental(car, housing). Can graduate faster, be able to reach your goal faster. School can draw more student since more course are added. Student can very focus on that 7 1/2 weeks of study and get good grade. Cons: Maybe too rush and too much prsure for some student. Less time for student to know the people in their class.Graduate too early, and have to face the real world.
I think these changes will draw more and more student to apply to ASU, because we all know that finalscial is alwasys the common problem for college student. ASU can provide more short couses and be able to safe a bunch of money for college stundentASU has more advanse than the other college or University. 

Entry #4 Brain Teasers

"Easy or too Hard for you?"~~~~~~(11/15/2015)
Brain Teaser is a form of puzzles, question or picture that need people to think about it or kind of use their brain to slove. Brain Teaser normally use to tease people to think more critical. People think solving the Brain Teaser is the way to help their kids to be more creative.  I still remember the first Brain Teaser that I had done. The question: Maria's father has five daughters: 1.Nana, 2.Nene, 3.Nini, 4. Nono. what is the name of the fifth daughter? It took me a while to figure out the answer is not Nunu.

There are a lot of different kinds of Brain Teaser, some of them are math solution, pictures, trick question, art articles, maze, etc...

Entry #3 Slanted Reporting

"Who Can We Trust?"~~~~~~~~~(11/15/2015)
Do you know how most Media make money? The answer is Advertising. Then, how can media draw more advertising?Is more people reader read their articles or news. Some media slanted report the news just because they get so much more attention than telling the truth. That how some magazine makes money, but media suppose to seek for the truth and then report to the social community.

In Hong Kong, there is three type of media, The first type we called it Left pie, which is more towards the mainland china side, most of their news are reporting how great is china and how awesome is communism. The second one we call it Right pie, which is the completely opposite of mainland china side, most of their news are reporting how bad is china and how great is Democracy. 

The last one is called the Bussiness pie, which is not with both side, but their report are normally based on which topic is more attractive or can help them get as much attention, then they will stand on whichever side.  

It is ridiculous that watching political news in Hong Kong because most of the time is gonna be slanted news and has a lot of bias in the report.
